We develop the chemistry. You put your name on it.

BANFI does not sell a catalogue. Companies bring us a deposit, a substrate and a set of operating constraints, and we return a working formulation, the documents needed to sell it, and the right to produce it under their own brand.

Capabilities

Four areas of applied chemistry. Most projects combine two of them.

Every formulation is built around one question: what has to come off, and what must survive underneath. The answer changes with the alloy, the temperature and the time available for the job, so we develop against your conditions rather than an average case.

Mineral deposits

Carbonate and sulphate scale, iron oxides, silicate layers and mixed deposits in heat exchangers, condensers, boilers and pipework.

Corrosion inhibition is specified for the alloy actually in service, not for steel in general.

Biological fouling

Biofilm, algae, mussels and molluscs in cooling circuits, intake channels and water treatment lines.

Chemistry is chosen so the detached growth can be handled within your discharge limits.

Coating removal

Paint, polymer films, cured resin, bitumen and carbon residues, on metal, concrete and composite surfaces.

Stripping speed is balanced against what the substrate underneath can tolerate.

Surface modification

Passivation, hydrophobic and oil-repellent treatments, adhesion primers and temporary protection between shutdowns.

Applied as the closing step of a cleaning cycle, or developed as a product in its own right.
How a project runs

Typically six to twelve weeks from first sample to a validated formulation.

01

Sample and specification

You send a deposit sample, a water analysis or photographs of the surface, together with the equipment materials, operating temperature and the window you have for the work. If a sample cannot leave site, we work from analysis and photographs.

02

Bench work

We identify what the deposit is made of, then run dissolution and corrosion trials on coupons of your alloy until the rate of removal and the rate of metal loss are both where they need to be.

03

Pilot validation

The formulation is trialled on your equipment or on a representative loop. Concentration, contact time, temperature, circulation and the rinse and neutralisation steps are fixed at this stage.

04

Transfer

You receive the formulation and the full document set. From there you can produce it in your own plant, through your contract manufacturer, or through ours.

Private label

The formulation is yours at the end of the project.

Most of our clients sell the result under their own brand. There is no clause tying you to us for supply, and no ingredient held back to keep you dependent — a formulation you cannot manufacture without us is not a formulation you own.

  • Ownership of the formulationFull recipe, raw material grades and permitted substitutions, transferred to you on completion.
  • Your identity on the productLabel artwork, product naming and the technical data sheet prepared in your brand and print-ready.
  • Documents in your markets' languagesSafety and technical documentation issued in the languages your customers and regulators require.
  • A file any competent plant can followMixing order, equipment, temperatures, hold times and the quality checks that release a batch.

Contact

Enquiries are answered by the people who will run the project.

What to send in a first message

  1. The deposit or contamination you are dealing with, or a photograph of it.
  2. The equipment and the materials it is built from, including gaskets.
  3. Operating temperature and, for water systems, a recent water analysis.
  4. How long the equipment can be out of service.
  5. Whether you intend to sell the result under your own brand.
